Event Description

Have you ever thought about how to add a social enterprise component to your business model. The Lift Garage is a social enterprise business providing low cost auto repairs for low income Minnesotans that are on a path to a better future. What does it take to do that? How does it feel to not only repair cars, but lives: restoring hope and opportunity by helping people get to school and to jobs as an important step toward a more promising and secure future.

The mission of The Lift is clear, the organization also works through the reality of business: inventory, scheduling systems, customer service, warranties and more. During this session you will learn about The Lift Garage, a locally owned business and social enterprise and explore other models for businesses to partner in creating social good.

Objectives:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of the unique role of business in creating a supportive community
  • Hear and understand the work of a local nonprofit car repair shop that practices social good.
